Imagine if we made our program /courses/research information fairly transparent and freely accessible. We then create a knowledge base engine like wikipedia or google but our information is reputable and trusted. (Uniperdia or RMITperdia!) This search engine could be strongly RMIT branded and links to our income-generating services. It will also have links to encourage collaboration and worldwide communities of practice. Other training institutions shouldn't have to develop course and program material from scratch – they should be able to access our basic material and if they want more they can the full package See less

A couple of suggestions to differentiate RMIT:
Provide an easy to access portal for industry partners/Gov to connect with us on opportunities.
Create win-win packages for partners – (i.e if industry collaborates with us on scale in terms of WIL student placements, investments in research and initiatives and partner with us in terms of research and teaching then we provide workplace training for their staff.) See less

Accessibility needs to be considered particularly in terms of;
– international student experience, and the recognition of online study for employment overseas
– course design and the ability to vary curriculum/assessment for students with individual learning needs
– cost of equipment for students including specialist software
Assessment types
– ensure assessment types develop English language – particularly speaking and writing. (writing for a range of audiences, purposes and styles). Need to avoid scenarios which may pace a burden on one to one academic writing support. See less

7 Dec, 2020 Report Report Reply ReplyWhile it means planning through a lot of uncertainty, digital transformation also presents a great opportunity for RMIT to reduce silos within the education system and invest in new partnerships that are of equal importance to industry and students.

16 Nov, 2020 Report Report Reply ReplyNot only do we need to rethink how we deliver and respond to Industry 4.0 skills, we have an important role to play in K-12 and in the broader community around what ‘careers’ mean and how the nature of learning and earning is changing

An ability of RMIT is to go to our customers/graduates and to offer 'have you considered' personalised data analytics driven suggestions (as digital platforms such as Netflix, FB etc) do is to make much much better use of the data that we have about our students. i.e. university as data platform with a business model based around an AI engine.
